I am looking for info on Henry Grant Wood or his father Charles H. or mother Mary S. Henry was born May 4, 1892 in Wheeler. He was my grandfather and I would like any info I can get on his family. His wife was Mina Omans. Anything on brothers, sisters, grandparents, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Both he and his wife were not very talkative about their family ties.
John HILLS, age 73, born in England, and his wife Delilah A. Hills, age 69 and born in NY, were living on second Street in Breckenridge Village in Gratiot County. They were retired and had been farmers in Ingham County at one time. I'm interested in knowning anything more about them. I really know nothing other than this. Dick
I am looking for information about my great grandfather Gilbert McCoy. I know he was born in Wales. My mother told me that he was the treasurer of Gratiot County for most of his life. His daughter was Lucretia Hannah McCoy who was born in 1862 but I don't know if she had any siblings nor do I know her mother's name. Also, I had an Uncle who was born in Bethany in Gratiot County. Sarah born 1830 Ontario Co., NY, died 1907, North Star. Both buried North Star cementery. Would like info on their children: Darwin b.1851, married Anna ?? John William WARNER m Mary Elizabeth FLOWERS and moved to Gratiot Co from OH abt 1857. They came with their children Andrew Jackson, Sylva and Mary Jane. They had Lizzie and Emma once in MI. They also came with Mary's sister Catherine FLOWERS m Thompson JOHNSON and Thompsons brother David JOHNSON m Margaret (Peggy) EVANS. Am trying to find what happened to WARNER siblings and JOHNSON families. James H. ROBERTS m Anna HULL. They moved to MI from Iowa. Anna came to the US with her family from England abt 1850 and brought her younger brother and father to MI with her and her new husband. They settled in the Maple Rapids area. Many of James' and Anna's chidren married into Gratiot and Clinton Co families. Am very interested in tracing their children.

Looking for decendents of Abraham Nevills who migrated to Elm Hall area from Ontario Canada - date unknown. I believe this Abraham was decended from James Nevills m. Eve DeShired. He died 1811 near Niagra Falls, Ont. Canada. I have copy of his will from geneology done by Kathryn Green of Jackson. James had a son Abraham b. 8-31-1780 Sussex Co. N.J. died 11-29-1838 in Ontario Canada. Abraham Nevills m. Debora Ostrander b. 8-18-1786 d. 1-31-1865. One of their children was also named Abraham b. ? died ? I am researching a Christopher Kimmel (b. @1810 in PA) who settled in Gratiot county around 1851 near North Star. He was married to Phebe Spears (b. @1815 OH) and had a son named Alonzo Kimmel (1859- @1941). They came from Ohio. I cannot find Spears parents or death info or Alonzo's Wife or any further information about her. Alonzo had a son Named Clinton (1899-1978). I am looking for info on the wife of Francis Warren Carothers. He was born and died in Gratiot County, 4 Feb, 1861 - 12 Oct 1949. Her first name was Eva and they had a daughter named Hazel Thelma Carothers (1911 - 1971) who was Alonzo kimmel's daughter in law. I cannot find any further info on her. The last name I am looking for is Hannah Simpson (1830-1937). She is the Mother of Francis Warren Carothers and the wife of Robert Bruce Carothers (1836-1911). I cannot find who her parents are. Please help if you can.
I am looking for the ancestors of David Benjamin Iler, born 28 Jun 1884, died 27 Dec 1954 in Gratiot County, MI. His parents were Thomas Iler and Dilla Jane Miller (died after 1954). I have no further info on them. David Iler married Maude Lillian Gibbs in March 1908. She was born either Jan 1st or Jun 1st of 1888 in Gratiot County. She died Sept 15, 1970 in Clinton County. I am looking for her ancestors also. Her parents were Henry Knowler Gibbs and Nettie Mae Oatman. I have no further info on them either. I am looking for more info on Miles Wilson Tait. He was born 22 Nov 1889 and died Sept 1985 in St. Johns, MI. His father is William John Tait (no further info, please help), but who was his mother? The wife of Miles Tait was Maggie Anita Messer. All I know about her is she died in MI around 1955 or 56. Her father was Missouri Messer born in Ohio in 1854. Can't find any info about the mother, or any additional info about the father except that his parents came from PA.
