DAKE, DEGRAFT, DEGROFT, HELPENSTELL, SEAVER posted by Kim Whitney on Tuesday, July 1, 1997

I am looking for any information on a Lola DEGROFT SEAVER HELPENSTELL DAKE. She was born Feb 3, 1881 the daughter of Phebe and John DEGROFT/DEGRAFT. She lived in Alma in Jan 1910 as the wife of Charles SEAVER. She died March 24, 1951 married to Edward DAKE in Barrie, Ontario and is buried at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, MI. I obtained this information from postcard collections of my great grandfather, Arthur DEGROFT and my great aunt, Lola and a scrapbook that my grandmother kept.. Judging from the postcards her name may have also been HELPENSTELL in1918 while she lived in Colorado. She was sent away from her husband and came back to Alma in Feb of 1920 to live with a Jennie SEAVER who may possibly be Charles' mother. She is the mystery woman of my research and I am desperatley hoping to find some more information on her. After reading all the postcards addressed to her I feel as if I'm looking for a long lost friend. Any morsel of info that you may will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Kim Whitney
